Distributed Power Advantages

PVNavigator's business focus is on the development of small scale (2 to 5 MW), distributed PV solar power facilities. These smaller facilities offer considerable advantages over large central scale facilities, such as speed to marketplace, and their ability to be developed on urban landfills or Brownfield sites.
Operating a portfolio of smaller, geographically distributed facilities offers utilities greater development flexibility as they work to meet RPS requirements.
Many of the advantages are depicted in the accompanying figure and include:
No Need for New Transmission
PVNavigator's projects are developed in urban locations adjacent to distribution and load.Quicker Project Schedules
The development of central scale facilities takes years, whereas the permitting of a small facility may only take a year, and construction can be accomplished in months.Improved Project Economics
PVNavigator solar projects take advantage of the reduced costs to site and develop on landfills or Brownfield sites.Expedited Permitting
By focusing on small scale, 2 to 5 MW facilities on already environmentally impacted sites, we can accelerate through permitting and any associated EIR issues to bring facilities on line years in advance of a central scale facility.
